Gear up for a fall fishing trip by watching how Tony Roach targets shallow fish in fall. He talks about what kind of structure to look for this time of year. Once he finds a piece of structure he likes he picks them apart based on wind direction that day or if there is little wind the direction of the wind the day before. Depending on depth and wind he uses 1/8 and 1/4 ounce jigs with a variety of live bait like red tails, rainbows and shiners along with Impulse® Soft Plastics. When the fish are 30 feet deep, downriggers, leadcore line, or bottom bouncers are all good ways to get your crankbaits to run at the correct depth. Lindy Shadlings or Cotton Cordell Wally Divers are great walleye lures any time of the year.
