Gear up for a fall fishing trip by watching how Tony Roach targets shallow fish in fall. He talks about what kind of structure to look for this time of year. Once he finds a piece of structure he likes he picks them apart based on wind direction that day or if there is little wind the direction of the wind the day before. Depending on depth and wind he uses 1/8 and 1/4 ounce jigs with a variety of live bait like red tails, rainbows and shiners along with Impulse® Soft Plastics. Follow his tips for a great day of fall fishing!

This Week Jon trolls for deep walleye on Lake of the Woods in late August.
When the fish are 30 feet deep, downriggers, leadcore line, or bottom bouncers are all good ways to get your crankbaits to run at the correct depth. Lindy Shadlings or Cotton Cordell Wally Divers are great walleye lures any time of the year.

Feeling Bad for Phil pays off! Who would have thought of limits of walleye, jigging the Detroit River in the middle of August?
These guys usually hit it really hard in the early spring when limits of walleye aren't uncommon but when they invited me to tag along and have some fun on this beautiful August afternoon the last thing we expected was a 3 man limit of those tasty eyes. The crazy thing was we pretty much had the river to ourselves and the only thing that really left the River were the fisherman.

Walleye Workshop - Summer
This is part 3 of a 4 part series walking you through the walleye fishing season. Spring / Early Summer / Mid - Summer / Fall. I typically do this seminar in person during the month of March. With everything going on I hope you enjoy this series on Youtube. Summer is probably one of the toughest seasons for many walleye anglers. Fish leave the shallower primary pieces of structure and often times end up roaming the deeper structures. I break summer walleye fishing down into locations and presentations. This video highlights exactly what I do to catch mid summer walleyes. I hope this video was useful to you as I put a lot of work and information into these presentations each year.

Todays video is all about the finer points of slip bobber walleye fishing. Slip bobbers are an incredibly affective way to catch walleyes all June long. This video is all about how I find fish and catch them using this technique. I also talk about a lot of the rigging tips and tricks when it comes to walleye fishing with slip bobbers. This will be the last slip bobber video I probably post for awhile so hopefully many of your questions will be answered. As we transition into the summer period how to find and catch these fish will change. Thanks for watching!

Spring is one of my favorite times of year to chase walleyes. Pitching jigs and crank baits in shallow water is for sure one of the most enjoyable ways to catch a walleye. Location is everything in the spring. Not all spots or all of the shallows how fish equally. In this video I talk about 3 areas I look for spring walleyes. Sand, weeds, rock. I hope this video helps put more fish in your boat.

Jason Mitchell catches his personal best walleye on the Missouri River south of Bismarck, North Dakota. Will never know the weight of this fish because there wasn’t a scale in the boat but we believe this fish was close to or could have possibly surpassed the North Dakota state record. Incredible experience. The first fish of the morning was a fish that we would guess to be a solid eight pound fish. The second fish was much bigger.
North Dakota has a no cull law that basically prohibits releasing a fish once the fish is in the live well which reduces mortality from anglers upgrading fish. Because we didn’t know the exact weight, we quickly decided to release the fish so hopefully some other lucky angler can experience such an incredible thrill. How big do you think this fish was? We have held many walleyes up to twelve pounds over the years but never personally seen a fish that had this length and girth.
